Having been sent to the local Methodist Church Sunday School as a child I rebelled as a teenager, turned away from church and spent most of my weekends participating in sport – athletics in the summer, hockey and cross-country running in the winter. I joined the RAF straight from school and served as an Air Traffic Control Officer for eight years.

When my eldest daughter was born I began to attend church regularly again. As she, and then her two sisters, moved through the Junior Church so did I! Creche, Sunday School teacher, JMA secretary, youth group leader! At some point a friend suggested I explore becoming a local preacher. I put that off for over a year but he was persistent! By now I began to realise just how strong were the seeds that had been planted all those years ago in my Sunday School days by good and faithful people who persevered despite the rebellious of the youngsters in their care.

It was during my local preacher training that I felt a strong call to ministry but again I ignored it! And again it was other people who encouraged me to at least explore what God might be saying. So I candidated for the Methodist ministry, was accepted, and trained on the South West Ministries Training Course (SWMTC). I was ordained at the Llandudno Conference in 2003 and have served in the Newton Abbot Circuit, the Jersey Circuit and the West Devon Circuit prior to my appointment here in North Staffordshire.

In my free time I enjoy knitting and cross stitching, walking, reading, and music. A couple of years ago I discovered the joy of Bible journaling and enjoy using creative ways to make links between God and his world and people.

I also confess to being an Arsenal supporter!
